INFAMOUSIZAK

In our latest editorial we spoke to INFAMOUSIZAK about his musical influences, style and creative process.

Seeing as it’s relevant, how did you spend your quarantine and how did you keep your mental in tact?

For the early part of quarantine I was just focusing on making music. It didn’t really bother me; I was just focusing on locking in on my sound trying to elevate everything I’m doing. Production-wise, vocal-wise & writing wise. So the early part of quarantine for the most part was about sound and music. Towards like the end it started to affect me because I was thinking about getting out of the house seeing friends and doing normal stuff. I turned to Netflix to keep myself entertained, movies, documentaries and things that kept my creative juices flowing.

What’s your creative approach when it comes to music?

My creative approach when it comes to music is trying to maintain my authenticity and create art that is going to relate to people; Talking about experiences that I've had myself and putting that into my music. My aim is to make music that is a soundtrack to people's lives and create a feeling when people listen to my music.

What would you say is your biggest music influence?

I have 3 main music influences that have definitely inspired me. One of them being Kendrick (Lamar), more so for his storytelling. Kanye (West) is another one as well for production and storytelling and also Skepta for his ability to just transcend and being an artist that impacts culture as well. Those 3 would be my biggest influences.

What would you say is your go to style is now in terms of fashion?

My go-to fashion nowadays is a mixture of streetwear brands and just being comfortable in what I wear. I'm also at a stage where I prefer a cleaner look. I'm going through a transition where I prefer to style streetwear with high-end fashion pieces.

What’s next for INFAMOUSIZAK?

I'm currently finishing up for the release of my new EP 'Fracture'. The single for that will be out on the 17th September (2021). After that I have a whole bunch of new music ready, sitting on a lot of new songs. I'm also working towards hopefully a bigger project after the EP. So yeah, just continuing to release.
